I) Depuis notre dernière newsletter soixante Anciennes ont rejoint asainterose.com.  Nous leur souhaitons la bienvenue!
II)  Nous avons fait un grand bond dans le classement du moteur de recherche Google.  Grâce au patient travail (dit de "Search Engine Optimization" ) de l'équipe technique, nous sommes passés du 16ème rang au 2ème (lorsqu'on tape "anciennes de Sainte Rose" dans Google)! 
III) Vous avez remarqué le changement du fond de la page d'accueil? Vous ne l'aimez pas? Alors envoyez-nous une image ou photo (contact@asainterose.com) que nous pourrions utiliser et peut-être votre image sera-t-elle retenue pour être la prochaine image de fond de la page d'accueil!
 
nouvelles de l'alma mater
Une école jeune de 150 ans, cela se fête! Et nous partageons avec vous quelques échos de la célébration du 150ème anniversaire de la fondation de l'institution Sainte Rose de Lima (le 1er octobre 1864) :
  • Une très belle messe -télévisée- a été chantée par les élèves de Ste Rose sur la cour du secondaire avec la participation et l'animation des élèves des cours primaires et secondaires.
  • Une cérémonie Honneur et Mérite qui s'est déroulée à l'auditorium a honoré onze membres de la communauté éducative et du personnel de soutien qui se sont dévoués pendant plus de 25 ans au service de l'institution et qui sont encore en fonction. Il s'agit de : Marie-Alice Benjamin Denis, Huguette Joseph, Wildor Zamar, Daniel Azor, Julie Damus, Emmauella Boucard, Robert Lemaine, Marie-Claude Laforest, Sœur Pascal Jolicoeur, Carold Hilaire et Michèle Dupuy.
  • Une plaque "Honneur et Mérite" a été remise à chacune de ces personnes et Nathalie Lemaine a brièvement présenté chacun des récipiendaires.
  • Sœur Thérèse - Marie,  directrice actuelle de Sainte Rose de Lima, a, dans une belle allocution, remercié vivement toute l'équipe éducative et a signalé fort justement que 21 anciennes font actuellement partie de la communauté éducative de Ste Rose.  Elle a également annoncé quelques projets pour Sainte Rose à court et moyen terme, tels que :
    • L'inauguration de la chapelle restaurée (2015)
    • L'acquisition d'un second autobus (2016)
    • L'utilisation de tablettes numériques dans l'enseignement des classes terminales (2017)
  • Enfin, pour terminer deux élèves ont chanté l'hymne de Sainte Rose : "Nous l'avons bâtie, la chère maison et toute notre vie, nous la protègerons !"
 
Actualités des anciennes
I) La messe annuelle traditionnelle à la mémoire des anciennes décédées sera célébrée  le 22 novembre a 4h PM. A cette occasion très spéciale -qui coïncide avec les 150 ans de l'institution- nous espérons très sincèrement que vous serez très nombreuses à faire le déplacement et nous vous en remercions d'avance.
II) Le match de basket historique "Anciennes vs Philos" a été reporté.   L'équipe des Anciennes est déjà  constituée et doit commencer l'entraînement dans les prochains jours.  Cependant, compte tenu de leur souci d'être plus que copmpétitives lors de ce match, elles ont souhaité disposer d'un peu plus de temps pour atteindre le niveau qui leur permettra de tenir tête à leurs jeunes cadettes.  Nous ne pouvons que saluer cet esprit de championnes et leur souhaitons une bonne préparation.

Une touche de spiritualité
Combattons l'impression si fréquente de vivre des "temps morts", inintéressants et inefficaces, alors que nous pouvons profiter d'une attente à un feu rouge, à un guichet ou à notre téléphone pour nous replonger en Dieu et nous laisser envahir par son Esprit.  Il faudrait profiter de toutes les minutes creuses de notre vie pur rejoindre Dieu dans la cellule intérieure de notre âme, en Lui redisant avec joie : "O Toi qui es chez Toi tout au fond de mon coeur Fais-moi me perdre en Toi dans le fond de mon coeur".
 
Le saviez-vous?
Sainte Rose é été la deuxième école en Haïti à se connecter à l'Internet, en 1998 (après le Collège Catts Pressoir).  Ce projet ambitieux a mobilisé à l'époque près de 50 élèves dont un noyau dur de Philo qui a énormément aidé à collecter les fonds nécessaires. Cette équipe de 13 à 18 ans a aussi travaillé sur la 1ère version du site www.sainterose.org, site qui a connu plus de 35 000 visiteurs durant ses 2 premières années! Nous avons rapidement fait des émules car peu de temps après, les frères de Saint Louis de Gonzague ont sollicité les conseils de la section informatique de Sainte Rose pour la mise en place de cours d'informatique pour les garçons du primaire.

    Something is wrong with my life since I moved to Riyadh. I’m a student at SEK International School, but what’s happening to me has nothing to do with academics. They’ve made sure I stay quiet — through fear, shame, or just knowing how this place works. One time I tried to explain to a teacher why I couldn’t concentrate. She told me to drink more water. That’s when I realized no one here can help. My body jerks without reason. My chest tightens randomly during class. I forget simple words. My friends think I’m just anxious. But this isn’t anxiety — this is someone doing something to me, from afar.

    I used to be proud I was accepted into SEK. Now I feel tricked.
